Robert D. Hollis V Memorial Scholarship

In the memory of Robert D. Hollis V, the son of Brother Robert D. Hollis IV and nephew of founder Kevin Hollis. Robbie died in a tragic accident at the early age of 3 years old in 2004. Even though he did not have the chance to grow into the great man he would have been, we will never forget his free spirit and love for life.  In the remembrances of him it is our attempt to recognize young individuals who have admiration of continuing their education past high school.

Brothers For Life, Inc has provided scholarships valued at more than $25,000 to Lansing Area students.

Mary Carter Golf Tournament

In memory of Mary Carter, the mother of Brother Richard Carter.  Mary Carter was an active member of the community for many years as she devoted countless hours of her life to Boy Scouts of America, local youth sports and various other community centered activities.  She was a dedicated teacher in the Lansing area for over 25 years where she taught English and served as a mentor to many young men and women.  Mrs. Carter also supported and encouraged the use of sports to invoke discipline and pride in today’s youth.  Mary Carter passed away in 2004 after a long bout with lung cancer.  In her remembrance, we have established "The Mary Carter Golf Tournament" to help others in their fight against Cancer and to promote financial stability in inner-city athletics.

Proceeds from the golf tournament will be appropriated to The American Cancer Society, local youth sports organizations & Brothers For Life, Inc.

Samaritan's Feet Event  "Shoes of Hope"

Shoes of Hope is Samaritan’s Feet overarching shoe distribution initiative both in the United States and around the world. The goal is to bring a life-changing message of hope, love, and compassion to each child or adult that is provided shoes.

Every time we sit across from a child, we not only meet their physical needs with a pair of shoes and socks, but we spend quality time with them asking about their dreams and their lives. These distributions are the outpouring of the Samaritan’s Feet, Brothers For Life and others commitment to changing hearts and lives forever.

Shoes of Hope distributions are generally one day events where volunteers and staff welcome participants, share Samaritan’s Feet story of hope, wash their feet, and provide them with a new pair of socks and shoes. The distributions provide unique opportunities for individual volunteers, families, small groups, churches, and corporations to encourage, provide comfort, and share hope. Go to www.samaritansfeet.org for more details.
